∆ Active Project

Project Type: Immersive Experience | UI/UX Practicum

(augmented
and virtual reality experience)
Role: Director / Instructor
Project is in collaboration with the UT Austin's newly renovated Admissions Center.

MORE TO COME! Project is continuing development in successive classes within the Texas Immersive Specialization.

Overview
The final TXI class works collectively as an experience design team, spending a full semester working with a real-world client. The student's first real-world client was UT Admissions. Our task was to reimagine the UT prospective student experience.

The project consists of five elements:
  • Before Arriving at UT
  • Welcome Center
  • Texas One Stop
  • Tour
  • Social Media
The experience proposed tells the story of what it is like to be a longhorn and live on campus, immersed in the UT Austin academic experience, long-lasting traditions, and history. Close to 70k people visit the campus every year, consisting largely of prospective students and their family and friends.

What problem are we trying to solve?
The campus visit is one of the most impactful experiences for our prospective students and their families. A meaningful visit experience helps prospective students and their families imagine their lives on the Forty Acres and sets the stage for their long-term success.

With an interactive AR mailer, scavenger hunt, and photo booth, this project focused on  using emerging technology in unique and meaningful ways.
