Think & Do Workshop
Compelling Play
28 April 2011
The primary goal of Think & Do: Compelling Play is to synthesize perspectives on ways 3D immersive experiences and transmedia storytelling might be harnessed to catalyze compelling play and learning-rich experiences for children and families. Furthermore, we hope to locate key takeaways with possibilities for incubation of new projects. The T&D will be loosely structured, but will be largely shaped by the fantastic group of experts we’ve assembled. We’ll have curated a space designed to promote exploration.
One project that arose from this Think & Do session is "T is For Transmedia", a report which builds off of a review of the existing popular and scholarly literature about transmedia and children, and identifies key links between transmedia and learning, highlights key characteristics of transmedia play, and presents core principles for and extended case studies of meaningful transmedia play experiences.
